A LETTER FROM VIVIAN'S GOURMET OWNER KRISTIN LEDGERWOOD
A New Vivian's in 2020
Nearly four years ago, my husband, Geoff, and I took a big leap and decided to open a storefront for Vivian’s Gourmet, making our dream of a bakery a reality. Over the years, by expanding our product line, fine-tuning our processes, and partnering with local businesses, we have watched that dream evolve into something even greater.
You are all part of our Vivian’s Gourmet family, part of making this dream-turned-real-life. Our daily interactions—when you stop by for a morning pastry, when you place your next cake order—these have been priceless, and my favorite part of running the Vivian’s storefront. I am grateful for this time, the way I have learned about your lives, as you have connected and become a part of mine.
Geoff and I have had other dreams beyond Vivian’s—first and foremost, the dream of being present parents and building a healthy, happy family and home. While we’ve experienced success with Vivian’s storefront, it has been at the expense of this other, more important dream. The guilt and exhaustion of juggling home and work is wearying; but it is also an opportunity to analyze and continuing growing.
In order to fulfill all our dreams, it is time to morph Vivian’s once more and take it to that next step. In 2020, we will be making adjustments to our business that allow for its growth, as well as more time for our family and self-care. We want 2020 to be a year of thriving, in all areas.
Beginning January 10th, after our annual holiday break, we will open the Vivian’s Gourmet storefront Tuesdays through Thursday, by appointment only. On Fridays and Saturdays, our doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with fresh coffee, pastries, cinnamon rolls, cookies, bars (and all those favorites!). We will continue to take all specialty cake orders, catering orders, and our continued wholesale accounts, with a request to place these orders at least one week in advance. All of this is in preparation for our transition out of the Meadow Drive storefront on February 16.
Vivian’s isn’t going away, and we will release details of a new location and new exciting projects soon! Until then, after February 15th, you can still reach us via phone at (303) 674-6781 or by email, email@example.com. Please also sign up for our monthly newsletter so you can be the first to know what we’re doing and where to find us around town or even down the hill!
As we have worked through the emotions and logistics of this decision, I have been overwhelmed with gratitude for this community and its support. I appreciate how you have been there every step of the way, and I appreciate your understanding as we make this transition for our business and our family.
